CVS Group sponsors BEVA initiative to encourage more vets into equine practice

13th February 2020

CVS Group is proud to sponsor an initiative by The British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) offering free membership to veterinary students to help encourage more vets into equine practice.

The initiative, launched in January by BEVA, has been made possible by generous sponsorship from CVS Group and other companies.

Currently fewer than one in ten veterinary students end their studies and go into equine practice. BEVA, being one of the largest equine veterinary associations in the world, hopes that the new scheme to support students give many more students the opportunity to get an insight into the world of equine veterinary medicine and experience what’s great about being an equine vet.

Katie Roberts the President of the Association of Veterinary Students said: “This is a great opportunity for students. Some students can be daunted by equine practice, being able to be involved with BEVA at no cost will enable them to get a real equine experience as well as their EMA experiences”.

Hattie Lawrence Equine Director UK commented: “CVS Group is delighted to support this initiative. We hope that the early exposure of veterinary students to equine practice through the BEVA membership will encourage many more veterinary students to consider Equine as their long term career choice.”
