The New Graduate Programme

We understand that finding and starting your first job can be a stressful time and as such we have created a New Graduate Programme that will offer you support and guidance to enable you to build your skills base and confidence in order to get the best start in practice.

What will the programme offer you?

Our New Graduate Programme will provide you with mentoring at a practice level and a support network with the opportunity to meet up with other New Graduates on a regular basis to discuss how you are finding your new role and the cases that you have experienced. We will also provide you with some essential CPD in the areas that you will come across in practice which you may not have had much practical experience in whilst at University.

During our induction programme you will be given all the information you need to enable you to understand the company policies and procedures as well as your individual practice processes. Also as part of our induction programme you will get the opportunity to visit some of our larger sites, including one of our laboratories and a referral centre, to enable you to understand how these areas of the business operate and how they can be of benefit to you.

The clinics where New Graduates are placed are successful and well equipped clinics with well structured consulting and operating times. This coupled with experienced teams of nurses and receptionists will allow you the opportunity to develop your skills both clinically and commercially.

At a clinical level you will be teamed up with experienced vets to support you with the day to day challenges of your first year in practice such as:

You will be given the opportunity to develop your confidence by carrying out both routine and the common non-routine surgical procedures whilst being fully supported by colleagues. You will also have access to, and training in medical diagnostics.

A strong emphasis is placed on learning and with the aid of 8 days internal CPD which will guide you through areas such as:

Further support is offered by assigning mentors from the CVS veterinary team who you can receive regular contact from.

How do I apply?

The new graduate programme starts in late summer and in order to apply you should visit the recruitment section of our website to find details of our current vacancies or alternatively you can speak with your CVS Final Year representative in your University.
