Vet Oracle Teleradiology Laurent Garosi wins World Small Animal Veterinary Association Speaker of the Year Award

20th October 2022

Laurent Garosi, Clinical Director of Vet Oracle Teleradiology, has won the prestigious World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) speaker of the year award.

The WSAVA Congress gives delegates the opportunity to hear the latest thinking from world-class speakers. Each year, the WSAVA asked delegates to nominate their speaker of the year, who they believe has conveyed their knowledge clearly and with passion. On 29th September 2022, Laurent Garosi was announced the winner of the WSAVA 2021 congress.

During this virtual congress Dr. Garosi, EBVS® and RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Neurology and Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, delivered five neurology lectures including a state of the art lecture on Paroxysmal Dyskinesia which is one his areas of expertise.

Commenting on the award, Laurent said: “It was an immense pleasure to receive this Award. Teaching is a passion and one of the most meaningful aspects of my job as I get older, because I want to give back to the profession. Neurology is often seen as a daunting topic, so managing to change this perception and giving delegates something meaningful to take back into everyday practice, is the challenge I was trying to rise to during my lectures.”

The WSAVA Congress is an opportunity for the global veterinary community to come together to learn, share ideas and to forge relationships with colleagues from around the world. During the congress, thousands of delegates from across the world attended the virtual event between 13-15 November 2021, to hear international speakers on a range of over 50 small animal veterinary topics.

Laurent added: “The global reach of WSAVA is very exciting. As specialists, we can often have a narrow view of our area and perhaps believe it is only relevant to our American and European colleges. However, when you lecture at WSAVA Congress, you quickly realise that there is a far larger community of like-minded professionals out there, sharing the same passion for your speciality.”
