CVS develops new training programme for its future leaders

Programme is recognised by the Chartered Management Institute
CVS has developed a Leadership and Management Programme for aspiring or new managers.
The Level 3 Leadership and Management Programme gives a comprehensive introduction to leadership, combined with a flexible approach which enables learners to work at their own pace.
It features components on managing stress and resilience, time management, while also taking in the management of colleagues and topics such as change, finance, and innovation.
Mark Moreton, LED Director at CVS said:
“The aim of this programme is to prepare our colleagues for a future leadership and management role, or to support recently appointed leaders and managers, enabling them to successfully handle the challenges of leadership.
Managing veterinary teams requires resilience, great coaching and people management skills and this is all covered in this programme.”
The Level 3 leadership programme is recognised by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and upon completion of the programme, learners receive 12 months membership.
This gives them access to the CMI’s Management Direct Portal containing over 23,000 pieces of curated content as well as other mentoring and learning programmes.
CVS colleagues can sign up on the company’s CVS Knowledge Hub, a learning platform that offers over 700 courses and associated resources, covering clinical and non-clinical training.
CVS Group operates across small animal, farm animal, equine and laboratories, with over 500 veterinary practices and referral centres in the UK and Australia. In the last five years the company has invested nearly £80 million in its sites, facilities and equipment, in addition to industry leading training and support, to give the best possible care to animals.
