CVS has announced the opening of a new purpose‑built veterinary training centre in Bristol, significantly expanding its practical education offering for vets and nurses across the South West, Wales and the Midlands.
Located next door to Bristol Veterinary Specialists, the new facility has been designed to deliver high‑quality, hands‑on continuing professional development (CPD) in a convenient and accessible location. The centre sits close to both the M4 and M5, making it easy for clinicians travelling from surrounding regions and further afield.
The centre will host a full programme of CVS clinical courses, matching the well‑established CPD offering currently delivered at the Harrogate Training Centre. This includes dentistry, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, abdominal ultrasound for vets and nurses, echocardiography, ophthalmology, dermatology, Schedule 3 training for nurses and a range of non‑clinical and leadership development courses.
Purpose‑built for practical learning, the facility includes:
- A fully equipped wet lab with surgical kits
- Dentistry equipment including dental X‑ray
- A dedicated lecture space for dry practical skills and theory-based sessions
- A kitchen and break area for breaks and informal discussion
The centre has capacity for 16 delegates in the wet lab and 16 in the lecture room, ensuring small, interactive group training with plenty of tutor support.
Training will be delivered by experienced CVS clinicians, including vets, nurses and specialists from across the organisation.
The new centre is designed to provide colleagues with greater choice of locations for face‑to‑face CPD, reducing travel requirements while maintaining the high standards associated with CVS education. CVS will replicate its full face‑to‑face portfolio in Bristol, enabling more veterinary professionals to access practical CPD closer to home and supporting the group’s wider investment in clinical development.
