Kelly Dobson ACMI fCMgr joins Dovecote Veterinary Hospital as Hospital Manager
Kelly Dobson ACMI fCMgr has joined Dovecote Veterinary Hospital as its new Hospital Manager, bringing a wealth of experience and leadership expertise to the multidisciplinary referral centre.
Kelly joins Dovecote with over 14 years of experience in human healthcare and an additional six years in veterinary healthcare, having begun her career in the NHS. Her most recent role within the public sector was as a Discharge Support Officer.
While deeply passionate about her work in human healthcare, Kelly made the decision to seek new challenges and explore opportunities beyond the NHS. Her transition into veterinary care began when she joined the Internal Medicine department as a List Runner at a referral hospital in Derby in 2019. Recognising the strong parallels between human and veterinary medicine, Kelly quickly adapted to the new environment.
As Dovecote Hospital Manager, Kelly’s focus will be on strengthening collaboration across departments, streamlining operational processes, and fostering a culture of support, communication and accountability. She believes that when veterinary teams feel valued and empowered, they deliver their best work - and that directly translates into the quality of care provided to clients and their pets.
Speaking about her new role, Kelly said:
In 2024, Kelly completed her Chartered Management qualification through the Chartered Management Institute, earning both ACMI and fCMgr status. Her professional journey has been defined by proactive decision-making, a passion for team culture, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
