VetSkill marks milestone for Level 5 AVNECC as first CVTC learners celebrate Pass

Chester Veterinary Training Centre (CVTC) is now home to the first seven learners to pass the VetSkill VTEC Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Emergency and Critical Care).

CVTC was the first centre to gain approval for this qualification, having played a role in its development as part of a stakeholder group. This recent achievement by the learners is a full circle moment for the centre and ultimately marks a significant step in this qualification’s journey since getting off the ground.

The most recent addition to VetSkill’s suite of Level 5 Advanced Veterinary Nursing qualifications, the Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) diploma is designed for Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) wishing to advance their knowledge and skills in emergency and critical care nursing to a mastery level beyond that of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Day One Skills and Competences. It is ideal for RVNs seeking career progression.

CVTC is a VetSkill approved training provider with three centres in Chester in the Northwest of England, Dereham in Norfolk and Harrogate in North Yorkshire, who have been training student veterinary nurses since 2009. In addition to the VetSkill VTEC Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Emergency and Critical Care), the CVTC sites are also approved by VetSkill to deliver the VetSkill Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Practice Nurse), VTEC Level 4 Award for Animal Medicines Advisors (SQP - Companion Animal), VTEC Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Companion Animal), and the Level 2 Certificate in Veterinary Care Support.
