Recent acquisitions

CVS is constantly looking for good quality practices for integration into its existing network.

We are always interested in acquiring new practices, and detailed here are our most recent acquisitions.

Acorn Veterinary Centre

On 19th October 2017 Acorn Veterinary Centre, a single site small animal practice situated in Studley, joined the CVS Group.

Acorn Vets employs around 12 staff. The previous owners, Pete Haseler and Chris Haseler, will continue to work in the practice post acquisition. Pete will take on the role of clinical director, while Chris will continue in her current role as a veterinary surgeon.

All Creatures Veterinary Centre

On 17th October 2017 All Creatures Veterinary Centre, a single site small animal practice situated near Warrington, joined the CVS Group.

All Creatures employs around six staff. The previous director, Deborah Guite RVN, will continue for a short period as practice manager to assist with the transition. Heather Eubank and Diane Wilshaw from Rees Veterinary Centre will be taking on the practice manager and clinical director duties after this transitional period.

Aire Veterinary Centre

On 28th September 2017 Aire Veterinary Centre, a single site small animal practice situated near Leeds, joined the CVS Group.

Aire employs around five staff including one vet. The previous director, Nathalie Declunder DVM MRCVS, will continue post acquisition as clinical director.

On 11th September 2017 B&W Equine Group, a five site, equine practice mostly situated in South West England, joined the CVS Group.

B&W Equine employs around 87 staff including 35 vets. The 11 previous owners: Ian Camm BVSc CertEP MRCVS; Ollie Crowe BVSc CertES(Orth) DipECVS MRCVS; Richard Hepburn BVSc MS(Hons) CertEM(IntMed) DipACVIM MRCVS; Becky Jones BVSc DVDI MRCVS; Chris Wright BVSc CertVR CertEM(IntMed) MRCVS; Lee Paul BSc(Hons) BVM&S GPCert (EqP) MRCVS; David Agnew BVSc GPCert (EqP) MRCVS; Duncan Ballard BVM&S Cert EP MRCVS; Scott Milnes BVSc Cert EP MRCVS; Pete Ravenhill BVSc CertEM(Stud Med) BAEDT MRCVS; and Chris Shepherd BVSc MRCVS.

All are continuing post-acquisition with Ian Camm taking on the role of regional director.

Strule Veterinary Services

On 22nd August 2017 Strule Veterinary Services, a two site, mixed animal practice situated in Northern Ireland, joined the CVS Group.

Strule employs around 15 staff including  vets. The previous owner, David Stewart BVMS CertPM ARAgS MRCVS is continuing at the practice and will be assuming the role of clinical director.

Cundall & Duffy Veterinary Surgeon

On 1st August 2017 Cundall & Duffy Veterinary Surgeons, a mixed animal practice situated in Scarborough, joined the CVS Group.

Cundall & Duffy employs around 12 staff including five vets. Previous owners, John Duffy BVSc MRCVS and Jane Duffy BVSc MRCVS are continuing at the practice. Chris Cundall BA VetMB MRCVS hopes to return to the practice in the future. John Duffy BVSc MRCVS will be assuming the role of clinical director.

Medina Veterinary Group

On 23rd May 2017 Medina Veterinary Group, a three site small animal practice situated on the Isle of Wight, joined the CVS Group.

Medina employs around 25 staff including six vets. Two of the previous owners, Neil Grant BVMS MRCVS and Liane Grant are not continuing post-acquisition. Tim Watson BVM&S MRCVS will be assuming the role of clinical director.

On 16th May 2017 All Creatures Veterinary Health Centre, a small animal practice situated in Limavady, Northern Ireland, joined the CVS Group.

All Creatures employs around 12 staff including two vets. The previous owners are continuing post acquisition, Ciaran Montague MVB MRCVS as clinical director and Gillian Montague RVN as practice manager.

Phoenix Vets

On 11th May 2017 Phoenix Vets, a two site small animal practice situated in Camberley and Sandhurst, joined the CVS Group.

Phoenix employs around 19 staff including six vets. The previous owners are all continuing post acquisition, Claire Newton BVSc MRCVS will become the clinical director, Sarah Simpson will continue as the practice manager and Ian M B Simpson BVSc CertSAO MRCVS will transfer to Lumbry Park.

Radis Group

On 4th May 2017 Dierenkliniek Zwolle BV, Dierenkliniek Hengelo BV and Dierenkliniek Amersfoort BV (herein collectively referred to as the Radis Group), joined the CVS Group.

The Radis Group employs around 12 staff including six vets, and treats small animals only. The previous owner is not continuing post acquisition.

Animed Veterinary Centre

On 2nd May 2017 Animed Veterinary Centre, a small animal practice with two sites situated in Whitstable, joined the CVS Group.

Animed employs around 33 staff including seven vets. The previous owners are all continuing post acquisition, including Mark Moreton BVetMed MRCVS who will become the clinical director.

On 13th April 2017 Severn Edge Veterinary Group, a mixed practice with 12 sites situated around Shropshire, joined the CVS Group.

Severn Edge Veterinary Group employs around 135 staff including 43 vets. The previous owners are all continuing post acquisition, including John Brentnall BVSc MRCVS who will become the regional director for Severn Edge.

On 11th April 2017 Eagle Veterinary Group, a one site small animal practice situated in Halesworth, joined the CVS Group.

Eagle employs around eight staff including three vets. The previous owner, Mr Gerard Roche BVetMed MRCVS will not be continuing post acquisition.

On 31st March 2017 Champion Vets, a four site small animal practice situated near Glasgow and Falkirk, joined the CVS Group.

Champion employs around 26 staff including eight vets. The previous director, Dr Stephen Champion BVM&S BSc MRCVS, will continue post acquisition as clinical director.

On 30th March 2017 Willow Veterinary Clinic, a one site small animal practice in Norwich, joined the CVS Group.

Willow Vets employs around nine staff including two vets. The previous directors, Mr Timothy Roe VetMB MA MRCVS and Susan Roe have left the business and will not continue post acquisition.

On 14th March 2017 Ambivet Veterinary Group, a five site small animal practice with branches in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, joined the CVS Group.

Ambivet employs around 69 staff including 16 vets. The previous directors, John Bailey BVSc MRCVS, will continue until the end of May as clinical director and Heather Benbow BVetMed MRCVS left the business at acquisition.

On 15th February 2017 Pennine Vets, a two site small animal practice situated in Bury and Bolton, joined the CVS Group.

Pennine Vets employs around 20 staff including four vets. The previous partners, Ian Mostyn BVM&S CertZooMed MRCVS and Gillian Mostyn BVM&S MRCVS will continue to work for CVS, post-acquisition, with Ian taking on the role of clinical director.

On 10th February 2017 Valley Veterinary Group (Ayrshire) Limited, a two site small animal practice situated near Kilmarnock, has joined the CVS Group.

Valley Vets employs around 22 staff including seven vets. The previous directors, Dr David Norrington BVMS MRCVS and Dr Shirley Norrington BVMS MRCVS will continue to work for CVS, post-acquisition, as joint clinical directors.

On 30th January 2017 Bell Equine Veterinary Clinic, a one site equine practice situated near Maidstone, Kent, has joined the CVS Group.

Bell Equine employs around 45 staff including 17 vets. The previous directors, Dr Karen Coumbe VetMB MA CertEP CertVA MRCVS, Dr Timothy Mair BVSc PhD DEIM DipECEIM DESTS MRCVS, Dr Julian Samuelson VetMB MA MBA MRCVS and Mr David Sinclair BVetMed CertES(Orth) MRCVS will continue to work at Bell Equine. Julian Samuelson will be taking on the role of clinical director.

On 11th January 2017, Dierenartsenpraktijk Zuid-West Friesland BV, a two site mixed animal practice situated in North Netherlands, joined the CVS Group. This is CVS’s first mixed practice in the Netherlands.

Dierenartsenpraktijk Zuid-West Friesland employs around five staff including two vets. The previous owners, Gerrit Patgers and Yvon Boogerd will continue to work for CVS with Gerrit as clinical director and Yvon as practice manager.

On 14th December 2016, O’Reilly & Fee Veterinary Surgery, a one site mixed practice situated in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, joined the CVS Group.

O’Reilly & Fee employs around 13 staff including seven vets. The previous partners, Mr Enda O’Reilly MVB MRCVS and Mrs Anne Fee O’Reilly MVB MRCVS will continue to work for CVS with Enda as clinical director.
